Study of sedimentary units, sedimentary gaps and ages of the units.
Mapping of continental environments using field techniques.
Marine cartography using geophysical techniques.
Characterization of sedimentary environments (current and past) by mean of facies analysis, facies associations and sequences, in stratigraphic sections and seismic reflection records.
Palaeoenvironmental and paleontological reconstructions applied to studies of historical geology, climatic changes, anthropogenic changes and relative sea-level oscillations.
Ecological history and ecosystem restoration.
Determination of the transport and sedimentation processes.
Molecular techniques applied to studies of genetic expression, molecular identification of fish and mollusc species, integrates taxonomy, metagenomic identification in marine sediments and filtered water, evolutionary relationships and populations.
